Hello All, I just wanted to jump on and give a little insight in to the work I do behind the scenes editing your lovely images. Believe it or not this part of my job takes longer than the actual session. Even longer than the amount of time washing all the newborn clothing, wraps and blankets and waiting for them to dry! Longer than getting everything ready, packing up my car and driving to you and longer than the time capturing all your beautiful moments. The thing is this is what makes my photography special, unique and the images sent to you with love. I am not one that can send my work out without the care of making it my kind of perfect.

My editing style means that every image you receive is fully edited to how I want it shown off and displayed in your lovely homes for all to see. I shoot in a RAW format, I won’t go in to too much detail but it’s a way of getting as much detail in the images as possible with the highest of quality while being able to edit in a unique style. If I chose to shoot in a jpeg format you could have the images straight after the shoot, exactly as shot, but they wouldn’t look the way I want you to see my work.
Editing is a choice
Editing is a choice and I choose to make my images stand out. I choose to use my expertise in this field to make your images look stunning in my unique style. It means every image has to be edited with love and care and then exported to a jpeg format for you to be able to use, keep and share.

I have got my editing down to a tee but it’s also about how I shoot in camera, that I shoot with the crop in mind, the angle I want and that my lighting is right. I love to use natural light for the majority of my shoots but for my styled newborn sessions I like my light by my side set to a low soft light that I know won’t change every second, go behind clouds or bounce off the walls just like the sun does! It means I can move the light to how I want it to shine on to my subjects and can watch where the shadows lay.

With my editing I like to edit newborns as natural as possible but I do soften little unwanted blemishes, milk spots or markings that wouldn’t usually be there and if asked I can of course do more.
