It’s the most wonderful time ahead and as a mum of two myself I know how absolutely beautiful this journey is and how precious your new bundles are, so I am going to run through about what to expect on the day of your Newborn & Family Photography Photoshoot.
Bespoke and tailored, creating photographs that YOU love
Newborn Photography is something I feel incredibly passionate about and hopefully my images tell that story. The amount of love and care I pour in to every session I hope is evident in all my work and to all of my lovely clients over the past 12 years and I cannot wait to meet all the new arrivals and families over the coming months and continue this journey with you all.
My newborn sessions are a labour of love from the moment I am with you, all through to the editing process and putting together your gallery for you to view. I take pride in showcasing my images and showing you examples of beautiful Wall Art products you can be proud to display in your home. I have hand picked some of the best vendors in our business to supply beautiful products and I also invest in beautiful outfits, props, fabrics and accessories. I have also been known to hand craft some of my props myself such as crochet pieces and needle felted animals, hearts, clouds and rainbows – this might have to be another blog!
When should I book my Newborn Photoshoot?
I advise booking your session after your 20 week scan. This allows me to leave space in my diary and liaise with you upon baby’s arrival
My newborn slots get filled very quickly and due to the unpredictable nature of birth I only take on a select few within a month. This allows me to ensure that if baby is early or late I always have availability for you!
Forever Memories to treasure and keep
I offer digital packages so you can treasure your beautiful images forever and there will be options to add on additional images or upgrade to the full collection of images taken at your session. I will put together ideas for beautiful Wall Art and products so you can visualise how they will display in your home and compliment your walls. We can discuss any framing ideas you have and I can work with you to make your dream reality.
I love the Styled look and use of props
I have a wonderful selection of props as well as neutral and colourful accessories, fluff, wraps and newborn outfits to suit everyone and I will discuss with you what you would like me to bring for your session.
I love The Natural Look
Newborn sessions can be absolutely natural and stripped back with more of a focus on beautiful newborn details such as hands, feet, hair curls and details. Natural moments with family and less props used or with more focus on neutral colours and rustic bowls or a boho style. The choice is endless and we can discuss together what is right for you.
How to Prepare For Your Newborn & Family photography photoshoot
As we will be in the comfort of your own home you will be able to rest and relax as I take your photographs. It is helpful to have a clear area to work in and I recommend a rug sized area preferably against a plain and light coloured wall.
Can we have Family Photographs?
Yes of course! I love those beautiful natural moments and cuddles in your arms. These can be created anywhere in your home by a large window, snug on your sofa or laying on your bed together and in a space you feel most relaxed. It is helpful to have one or more of these areas tidy and accessible on the day of your session. If you want the studio style created this can be achieved with a plain wall behind you and my soft light for a natural glow.
What if i am expecting Twins and Multiples?
I’ve got you! There is no extra charge for multiples just a whole lot of extra work for me!
What if my baby cries?
During the session I let baby lead the way so if your little one needs to be fed, changed, needs a wind or just a cuddle we can take a break. Some babies take a little longer than others to settle but please do not worry I will always make sure baby comes first. Once baby is either happy and/or sleepy and milky drunk I will begin to work my magic!
How do I choose My photographs after Our session?
Up to two weeks after your session, when all my magic is complete there will be a link sent to you with your private, password protected online gallery that you can look through with a cup of tea or even a gin in hand in the comfort of your own home! I will have prepared a beautiful edited gallery for you to choose from including some beautiful ideas for Wall Art too.
I will arrange a suitable time with you to answer any questions and if you need any assistance in choosing and selecting your favourite images and Wall Art.
